“focus
on your growth”
Hello,
My name is Danielle, Ma. Danielle
Anne M. Bacero. A 17 years old, grade 12 HUMSS student in PCU-Cavite and as
much as I want to add more details about my identity, I’m afraid I can’t—I’m
still in the process of building myself and yes, I respect my phase.
As you continue reading, you’ll
notice that I want to do something that’s beyond just knowing about me. I am
happy to use this platform as a way of sharing life lessons and wisdom.
May you bring something with you as
you reach the end.
I am the main character and He is the author.
In writing a story, the characters
on it have no power over the author who has the ability to create them and
direct their life as well. This author is the same author of the other 7
billion people in this world.
Writers never write their Literary
pieces just for it to be published only but also to use these pieces in
inspiring, changing and blessing the world.
And in my life, I do believe that I
have the best author this world could ever have.
Year after I was born, my parents
broke up. It was tough growing up without the idea of how a complete family
works. Yes, I complained about this many times but never had the idea of
stealing the pen from the author.
I never said “ako muna, sa next chapter ka na.”
As I continue the journey, I encountered
people who criticized and complimented me all at once. Balance is indeed the
key in friendship. This light era went on for years and I felt like I was already
too comfortable with what I have.
Writers love to have plot twists in
their stories and that’s when I got out of my comfort zone and entered the
battlefield where trust, patience and faith were tested.
That’s when I finally decided to
steal the pen and said “ako muna, sa next
chapter ka na.”
The era of when the battlefield is
over came yet the aftershocks aren’t finish yet. The moment I lost my trust
with anyone including myself is the moment I lost passion in things I do. Bouncing
back in life, I tried my best in being passionate again in visual arts and
literature.
I’m
still in a process and yes, I respect my phase.
Taking care of myself requires
being aware of my environment as well. I have to keep an eye on things that I get
myself involved with—from things that I see in social media to things that I watch.
Apparently, I am in love in
learning more about mental health which leads me in watching TV series. 13 Reasons why and Friends are my top favourite because they unfiltered the reality of
how society really works and acts.
Even in celebrities that I like is
inclined with “taking care of myself”. Donny Pangilinan and Taylor Swift is
more than just attractive. They have this wisdom and talents that makes me love
them even more.
“May
your heart remain breakable but never by the same hand twice” –Taylor Swift
Have you reached the end?
Focusing on your own growth wasn’t
as easy as it sounds. You have to let go of some things that “might” seem
important to you when the truth is, it only causes harm to you.
Listen,
You won’t grow in good days, they
are just the “resting zone” before entering the battlefield. Take advantage of
your resting zone, recharge and prepare for what is coming and when you’re finally
in the war, remember to look in different angle and see the beauty in
everything even in the smallest details.
Remind yourself to never question
God’s own way in writing your story. Let whatever plot twist happen and allow
him to write your story of overcoming be used as His testament.
Allow
Him to work and be the author.
But don’t forget to help yourself
as well. Surround yourself with people who help you grow, let go if you must.
Detach
yourself from the bothers of life.
Yet, remember that in growing,
there will be limits from all the fun things in life.
So, why “ukiyo”?
Growth
is indeed one of my favourite word. It reminds me that in everything that I do,
there must be a process of growing. Limit yourself for the sake of your own
growth, but live in the moment as you embrace and enjoy your process.
Now, have you reached the end?
Reflect on these things and leave with
a baggage of realizations. Only then, you have truly reach the end.
